About artieArtie Sievers is a composer, lyricist, and novelist whose work has been read, heard, and seen all over the country. His novel, Captain—the first of a three-part YA fantasy series— was released by TALES Publishing in 2018. The second book is expected to hit shelves in 2022. As a composer, Artie's work has been heard at the NY Theater Barn and Feinstein's/54 Below, and has received honors including the KSF Artist of Choice Award and an Anna Sosenko Grant for musical theater. Artie's musical The Goree All-Girl String Band was selected as a NYMF Next Link Project, and received a production at the prestigious 2017 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Directed by Ashley Monroe (Hamilton) and starring Tony nominee Lauren Patten (Jagged Little Pill), the production was hailed as a "genuine hit" by the Huffington Post and received nominations for Best Musical and Best Score.
Artie lives in Washington Heights— what the Lenape once called "The Great Maize Land"—in New York City with his wife and cat. On weekends, he loves hiking in the Hudson Valley and heading to the museum to seek out all the @catsatthemet. |
